Night drop and your breeding tactics
Sorry if this is a thread somewhere, but the search feature via my phone is frustrating.
Those who are seasoned breeders, do you change your light cycle and temps at night during the winter? How? What do you use? Just the hotspot or ambient too?
Also, anyone breed at different times of the year? I noticed its August and some bps are just laying, while some hatchlings are being sold already elsewhere. Thanks guys!

I stopped playing with temperatures a couple of years ago, and haven't changed them since. Breeding success is unaffected, but I no longer get any respiratory infections over the winter.
Ball pythons do not handle temperature drops well, and it doesn't affect their breeding.

You can breed year round and don't need a night drop.
Just put a male and female together to stimulate breeding.

I have never changed temps or light cycles. I let the house temps and the sun to the changing. I pretty much leave my warm side temps the same year round, right around 92 degrees. I do lower it a bit if a female is close to laying in case she lays on top of the heat and I don't find it right away.

I don't drop temps, but the light cycle changes on its own, since our collection is in a room with windows. I've noticed that it's sort of an individual thing as far as which females lay when. Mine seem to lay close to the same time each year.
