    Yup.

She's in her own little world.

Today, after only one night in a proper tub, the old stuck shed is literally falling off of her...everywhere.

    Poor thing.

I would imagine that old skin felt itchy.

[and she's still looking for more food]

I'm not sure how long I'll have to wait for a sample to take to the vet.

She doesn't look like she's had the food to spare, to put it delicately.

Question: When doing a CL deal, is it a good idea to bring probes to check the sex? Or ask them to probe in front of you? I've heard so many bad stories about He-she's etc..makes me nervous about buying from anyone off CL. Would most people even allow you to probe before purchase to confirm sex?
I don't know how some might react to that request.

When I saw her, I knew she was coming home with me, regardless of the he/she issue.

I waited until I got home to check her.

Now, if she'd been an expensive morph, I'd have probably insisted, pre-purchase.

For $35, however, it was an issue of having a good home, first.

If she'd turned out to be a he, I know people who would be overjoyed to have this snake as a pet.

I checked her last night and will be taking her to the local herp guy for verification next week.

For now, the most important thing is warmth, humidity and food.

She's underweight and still really hungry.

So glad you got her. I am usually pretty wary of CL so it makes me happy that she is healthy and has a new home.

    Thanks...so am I....

It just makes me feel good to see her all happy and warm and sloughing that old shed.

She's already 'coming out of her shell' and starting to beg for attention.

I rescued a female off of cl she was 1100 grams and she was in a tank with a male too. She was 30 dollars and she acted like she was starving because they said they were feeling her a large MOUSE every week

    Oh, my.

    How very magnanimous of them.

Abby wolfed down a big rat that was meant for my Dumerils with no problem.

[the Dum is sulking because she had to 'make do' with two smaller rats]

Peggy, my other CL "rescue" had the exact same "lifestyle" situation.

[did you get yours from WV, too?]

Oh, and Peggy now eats like she might never get food again.
She ate last night even though she's now 'blind', deep in blue.

Paradoxically, Alice The Escape Artist eats one large breeder mouse female every week and will eat no more.

He ate 2 smallish rats for me, two weeks in a row and threw a fit until I got the fat female mice again.

Ozzy the Bee will only eat one medium-large, white male live mouse every 10 days or so.
[and yes, his 'preference' is set in stone]

Maybe the girls just like to chow down more.

Not as "nice" as initially thought.

I just checked again and I really think Abby is Abner.
I'm taking her to the herp guy Tuesday but expect he'll just verify my findings.

Ah well...at least the snake is in a better place and what's one more big ol' pet BP?

    Want this one?

HE [90% sure after the last 'relaxed probe'] is huge, friendly, obedient, loving and now eats F/T.

I've got to say sweetie, since our brat Alice went missing, you've really gone overboard with the snake thing.

Of course, I have room to talk. I drove 2 hours to pick up a scrawny little normal male for pity's sake, knowing it was a male. But I just couldn't leave the poor thing to starve. His owner was trying her best after having a badly neglected snake dumped in her lap, but really driving 45 minutes one way each week for food ? I'd be a little tired of it myself.

Then of course the 10 snake meth-house rescue. Who are all doing well by the way.

Why is it we love these guys so much we put ourselves through hell for them when most people can't bear the sight of them?
