One reason I love being a Marine...

Caught a shell inside of my flak jacket while doing one of our moving maneuvers on the range. Heard it sizzle my skin as it made contact. Didn't want to be dropped for a safety violation so I continued firing. It was just a nice little black burn in the beginning, but after 2 days I have this. It's going to probably leave an amazing scar.....oh well. Chicks dig scars right lol I also have a small one on the side of my face, but that one isn't too bad.

It's just a little tender now whenever I move my neck around. Otherwise, it looks a lot worse than it actually is. Welcome

You may be a marine with a scar, but I wear pink hello kitty t-shirts

I HATE burns, you wouldn't catch me trying to hide that.

Hoorah! Yep I am familiar with that hot brass on the skin! I had 3 in a row hit me in the same spot on my left cheek and even though they didnt get stuck between my flak jacket or my collar they were so hot that I had a blister on my face. That sucked cuz I was walking around like that for a few days. But I have had it stuck before and that wasnt pleasant at all. I pretended I had a weapons malfunction and dropped to a knee and scooped it out and went right back to shooting.

Definitely been burned by brass before. We were shooting our 9mm a week or so ago and I was standing behind my buddy catching all his brass and jingling them in my hand to keep from getting burned. Good times.

OH YEA!!!! I had a couple of those in my day. I also had an M60 machine gun have a round cookoff in my face when I was an M60 gunner. I had a double feed jam and (being new on the gun and in the middle of a live fire) I opened the feed tray cover with my face about 1/2 inch away from it and BOOM!!!!! The gun was really hot and cooked off that round that was jammed. Blinded for a day and powder burns all over my face.

Like someone said though, chicks dig scares.
