Off feed for 9 months
My ball python has been off feed for 9 months and she has lost 200g. she is now 1724g. I have tried everything from scenting the rats with asf to live rats. Is the period off feed normal and the weight loss normal?

That is about how much my pastel lost during her 9 month fast. Scenting with ASFs was enough to break her fast. You could try a 30 minute car ride? I'm tempted to try this with my spider female.

try mice. my lesser male went off feed for winter + 2 months....so about 5 months total, and lost 300+gs until i bought him a hamster to eat cuz I didn't know where to get asfs. from 900 to 600gs 1724 is nothing to be worried about. only 200gs after 9 months is not bad, IMO.

Apparently the change in pressure from being in the car flips some switch. I really have no idea how it works but I know people have had it work for them. Worth a try i suppose!
