Help!!!!
I am a new owner of a baby ball python, as of 3 weeks ago and Im very concerned about him. He has not eaten anything yet, and his husbandry is up to par as far as i know, but today I came home and he has a "saliva" around his mouth and seems to have some of the plantation soil in his mouth. Also he opens his mouth quite a bit and his tongue seems to be stuck. please help, I need advice from ppl who know about these issues as the pet store employees dont seem to be able to help much. Thanks

Any wheezing? Could be start of a ri (respiratory infection). I would get to the vet to make sure its not.

Re: Help!!!!
I only hear the saliva noises when he opens his mouth and that is all!

Sounds like he needs to see a vet. Could be a respiratory infection

Re: Help!!!!
I am using what is called plantation soil, It was what the pet store suggested i use, it seems almost like a mixture of soil and minced bark. do you suggest something better?? Just looked it up and it is coconut husk fibres

newspaper, aspen, cypress bark is the only things that i would ever use. i dont trust what pet stores have to say. go to the care sheets page and read it all and go from there, in the mean time get it to the vet ASAP

hhm.. does it have any little balls of fertilizer/white stuff in it?
I don't know what it could be... you should call a real reptile vet and ask them, alot of petstore employees aren't the best health advisors.
