What is happening? (DUW lots of pictures)

This CH male has been bred twice.

The first time was with this female in 2010. Her on the eggs.

The 8 babies had some weird patterns, but nothing else of significant note.

To be honest I held back one female and sold the rest as normals thinking the project was going to be a silly recessive that wouldn't be worth anything.

The female I did hold back, unfortunately did not survive our move from Ohio to Michigan. We suspect the sun was hitting her cage during the 6 hour trip through some gap in the cover.

That resulted in me restarting the project this year, and I bred him to this female.

The results were much more pronounced and even color was involved. So far only 5 of the 10 eggs are out and all of them have a weird color and pattern.

a couple beside a normal (actually Het Caramel PH Orange Ghost, but as close to a baby normal as I currently have.)

Any ideas as to what is going on? It looks like the pattern is either dominate or co-dom, but the color didn't come out until the second breeding making me wonder if the female in the second breeding could be het for something or I just totally skipped over the color in the first breeding by accident and it is co-dom or dom. Both cases make me wonder if it is a double gene or a single gene that affects color and pattern.

    Opinions welcome.

Looks like he's passing on his reduced pattern and since it's showing up right away it's either co-dom or dominant. It would be great to add his genes to a lesser/butter/enchi project.

I'm thinking genetic reduced/banded. Color is going to vary from female to female but that pattern passing on is pretty awesome. Good luck!

great reduced pattern, looks very similar to my banded normal.
    Herps are cool.

One of the attractions of outdoor pursuits activities for many people is that life is reduced to the barest essentials, and in the process a more intimate connection to the natural world is established. Food that would be trashed or fed to the dog at home tastes wonderful, a cup of murky water is much appreciated, and after a few days, even a thin sleeping pad can feel like a comfortable mattress as tired bones are able to rest after a hard day's work.

Yeah a great way to clean up those patterns and make some really sweet reduced snakes for breeding! I would definitely plug him into enchi and butter/lesser... But I love reduced pattern anything so I would plug him into a lot of projects just to see where it goes... Very cool! That dude is hot too!
