    Thumbs up Donation Poll

    Hey Guys,

PLEASE, Everyone vote! This is on behalf of BP.NET and I want everyone to have a say to where the donation should go.

I haven't gotten a lot of suggestions of who should receive the donation on behalf of BP.NET but this is what I have for us to vote on.

REFERENCE TO WHAT THIS IS ABOUT! LOL
    http://ball-pythons.net/forums/showt...nd-help-BP-net!!

Also, just to let you know, I've gone through the old thread, and have spoken to a few members about this but I still only have 4 people including myself that have lost the 20lbs. I really want to see the $100.00 go. It's way to heavy and I don't want it in my pocket anymore XD haha!

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let me know if you have reached your goal weights.

    Cheers!

    Chris.

NOTE: I am having trouble accessing the USARK website. I personally think it would be awesome to give them the cash, but I can't seem to find them - I am in Canada, and I would prefer to make donations over Pay Pal, or by credit card or something simple. If anyone has any information on how to contact them, or if they moved their site.. Any info would be helpful . Unfortunately if I can't find a place to donate I will have to choose the runner up..

Yeah it seems like USARK's site is down or having issues.
But they do accept donations thru paypal. So just give it some time and the site should be up and running again.
Also if you still have issues with it you can always try contacting them thru Facebook or you could send a PM to ER12 or USARK.Jonathan.Bradley both of which are members here.

Also, I have to ask why the :cens0r: did you put the HSUS on your poll?

    Seconded the question..

Why in the world would you put the HSUS AND the ASPCA on a poll to donate to? Both of them oppose the ownership of all exotics and HSUS has been fighting to outlaw all exotics for years.

My vote would be USARK, since they fight for the rights of exotic owners. I'm sure the other two legitimate charities are nice too, but they don't have a 'connect' to me, so I'd pick the one place that has a connect to my life, AND isn't a scamming bunch of lowlifes(HSUS and ASPCA).

I think it's a grand thing that you're doing. Kudos for wanting to "give back".

    Hey Guys,

Thank you so much for voting. I'm gonna leave the poll open until Friday and then I'll make the donation.

I didn't realize ASPCA and the Humane Society was an issue. I didn't have a lot of input for charities and I am in Canada so I had to find charities that I could make online donations to. The Humane Society up here has been great to us, I got my kittens from them and they have been great with me personally. The SPCA here in Toronto has been great with educational programs with some of the kids I volunteered with a few years ago. Mind you this was long before I was into reptiles so I didn't get into their standings on exotic pet ownership..

I'm sorry if I offended anyone with including them in the poll. I just wanted there to be more choices than the three. LOL

It looks like USARK is going to win by an overwhelming number of supporters. Which is awesome! I'm going to try and get a hold of them this week.

Just a reminder to PLEASE come forward if you have lost 20lbs since the New Year. Even if you didn't register with me in the other thread. It's cool.

    Cheers.

The local humane society that you got kittens from is NOT the HSUS you linked to. The HSUS is a Animal Rights Extremist group that sends less than 1% of the donations to actual hands on shelters. They do not run any shelters for pets. Local humane societies usually need loads of assistance since they take care of pets in need. The "Humane Society" in the link is not them.

Similar with the ASPCA vs a local place. Totally different organizations. I always advocate giving to local shelters that actually care for animals. Never to HSUS or ASPCA. Just so you know, the HSUS is basically PETA, with many of the board members of both organizations having served on the other's board before.

Again, I think what you're doing is grand.

    Re: Donation Poll

I didn't know that LOL now I feel pretty stupid.

I thought they would all be connected like a franchise type of thing.. HAHAHAHA XD

Thank you for correcting me on that. I learned something new today. LOL

    Cheers,
    Chris.

Regardless, I think it's pretty clear who's gonna get the donation

Don't feel stupid... HSUS spends millions on marketing and PR campaigns so that most donors think they care for shelter pets. Those commercials and ads aren't 'accidentally' showing poor sad pets in shelter cages.

And yes.... I'd say the term "landslide" could be used....
