Nice find he's so tiny. I love to find turtles, second favorite thing to find after hots. I haven't found a snapping turtle in years so I'm a little jealous but super excited for your find.

I never find the little ones, just the big ones that try to take my hand off! Threads like this are probably my favorite, I love field herping and miss not getting to do it since I moved to CO from northeast KS.

I've pulled a few off the high way just out of town. And I see them at the lake and farm pond where I go fishing. Awesome animals, though a little scary when they are bigger than a dinner plate

This little one was doing a number on the little fish all bunched up in the shallow pools.
Snapping turtles are like monitor lizards with a shell, very intelligent, top predator, insatiable eaters, tough as nails and not afraid of anything.
