Can Laying Eggs Late Effect Incubation Period?
So I have 2 clutches that were laid on 5/10. One was actually due 5/5 but was late.
The one that was due 5/5 is already started to dimple but the one that was due 5/10 and laid 5/10 has not started dimpling. Hence the question.
Temps and humidity for both sets are the same.

Re: Can Laying Eggs Late Effect Incubation Period?
I am only a couple of seasons into this, but from what I've seen, there's no such thing as a clutch being laid "late." They typically lay 27-45 days POS, so unless she laid on day 50, I wouldn't consider them late. My girls last year laid ~day 35 (7 days "late"). That being said, both clutches still hatched around day 56.

See that is the opposite here. My big girls are on time. I know when they do their pls they'll be laying 30 days later. My younger and smaller girls and it seems like the 1st timers this year are running a week to 10 days behind. I have not seen it affect Hatch out time though. Everyone seems to be right around 60 day this year.

I had read on another site that the most important date is ovulation. The time from ovulation to hatch should be the same regardless of laying date (about 100 days). If laying takes more time than expected then time in the incubator should be less than anticipated.

RobertVDK - I can see where that would make sense. After all, it really comes down to the development of the eggs, and ovulation is where they "become" eggs instead of follicles.
