FINALLY!!! Cut Eggs Today.

So a little back story, my first year breeding I only had one clutch out of 5 females. It was a clutch of 8 from my big girl. Right off the bat 4 were slugs. Out of the 4 good eggs two rotted right away. Out of the two left that went to full term only one hatched. The other looked like a hard boiled egg??? So the one that was good ended up dying 3 days after hatching.

So overall first year sucked.

This year I had a RI sweep through my females so I had to treat with Batryl per the vet. So out of like 10 females this year only 4 laid and most were slugs. I was left with two clutches.

Clutch #1 - 2 good eggs Black Pastel X Normal
Clutch #2 - 3 good eggs Black Pastel/Lesser X Normal

So today was day 58 and I decided to cut the eggs.

Even though my bad luck streak continues it looks like I got one black pastel out of 5 eggs.

PRAY PRAY PRAY its a female. Even though its been a rough 2 years, Im still super excited to have hatched my first snakes.

This was the result from both clutches. I had 5 eggs total from two clutches the rest of y eggs were slugs had about 10 or so slugs. So 1 black pastel out of 5 eggs total. Kinda sucky if it turns out to be a male, but I just got word that after cutting this morning he is almost all the way out of his egg so updated pictures coming soon!

So as promised, here are some pictures of HER out of the egg, thats right its a female!!!! YAY!!

She came out this morning and has the coolest marks on her face.









This picture you can see the marks on her nostrils. Her yellow line stops just past her eyes then she has these two marks on her nostrils. I think its pretty cool.
