UPS rant...
So my phone is pretty much a dead stick now...I only get wifi, no service or anything. So posting this is the most I can do really. I ordered the iPhone 4S, shipped Monday and was on schedule for delivery yesterday. I had the day off but lots of things I needed to do, BUT since it needed to be signed for I stayed home. It was "out for delivery" @ 5:04am yesterday...at 6:30pm last night still no sign of them. So I checked where it was. "Not a real address could not deliver". UPS always can't find my house since its a little of a secluded driveway, so everytime they deliver I leave a HUGE sign saying my address and an arrow up the driveway. I was so mad....the sign is impossible not to see. My whole day spent waiting for them to try again today. Then at 8:34pm is said no one was there to sign for it so they needed to deliver today.....they never even showed up! Personally I think they got lazy and didn't feel like driving back this direction because I saw the ups truck a town away at 3:30 when I quickly drove to the bank and just made up a story so he didn't have to. The phone better come today because my phone I'm using now isn't going to work for another day. God I hate you UPS!

You should call them up so they can contact the driver so they know where they are going. I've had some problems with deliveries in the past and usually calling up the carrier will fix it. Worth a try at least!

I would be blowing up that customer service line like nobodies business. Thats absolutely ridiculous. Although for me down here, ive noticed that it really depends on the driver. Ive had nice UPS and nice FedEx drivers and also terrible ones of each too.

that's essentially my experience with them. it's bad enough that I now rent a mailbox during the holidays so I don't have to sign for anything. I leave notes on my door saying that i'm home, pull my truck out of the garage, leave lights on, use the downstairs bathroom, not shower etc just to make sure they even ring the doorbell and that i wont miss it and i still I frequently get a sticker on my door saying I wasn't home they'll try again tomorrow after waiting all day. what the hell? I use the USPS or FedEx when I ship but most of the stuff I receive comes via UPS. they suck.
"what can brown do for you?" is their slogan. well doing their job would be a start. and I live in Louisville for Vader's sake!

If its not here by like 4:30 I'm calling them. I need the phone TODAY. The sucky thing is now that no one will home to sign until like 3:30-4. Since everyone is working. I told my gf to leave a note on the door saying if there isn't anyone home to sign to leave it at the local post office.

Re: UPS rant...
Why not just ask them to hold it at the local UPS hub and just swing by and get it?

I've done that (after 3 failed delivery attempts). The problem there is that for many, it's not exactly a "just swing by and get it" proposition. those are typically opened limited hours and mine at least is a 25min drive each way. certainly not impossible but further accommodations for someone not doing their job is hard to stomach.
I wish part of the standard service was an option to leave at the ups store of your choice for you to pick up whenever you wanted.

Seems 25 minutes each way is worth it when you KNOW without a doubt you'll get your phone, but right now it's over 48 hours later. One hour vs. 48 hours for something you say you really need right now.

Yeah I mean its 30 min to the local hub but if I have to I have to. We will see where we are at when I get home, if theres a note or more waiting and a phone call.

I'd certainly do whatever it took to solve a pressing and specific problem (Like getting my phone). I'm speaking more as a matter of routine.
