how do Het guarantee's actually work?
so you decided to sell some hets, someone purchased them, took the time to raise them and they do not prove out. How does the guaranteeing work at this point?. i am assuming there really is no guarantee with anything less than 100% as to me it is just a gamble you take, but say the 100% does not prove, I am not including bad deals that where sold knowing 100% it was just a normal being claimed as a het, just talking legit hets here. (and if my assumption is wrong let me know on the less than 100% hets.

A Het guarantee only goes as far as you trust the breeder who sold you the Hets.

Either the buyer is jumping the gun about proving them out (using another het) or the original breeder lied or made a very big mistake. Such a mistake may have been breeding a codom male to the mother the season before breeding the recessive male.
At this point, the guarantee isn't worth anything (which it never was). It's up to the breeder to make it right (if possible) and start repairing a severely damaged reputation.

If you try to prove 2 hets it can take more than one attempts to get a visual.
If it does not happen I would except the breeder to compensate me for the purchase and the loss of time involved in raising the animals.
Proper compensation ultimately is something that need to be negotiated.
Can it happen that a het does not prove without any maliciousness on the breeder's part? Yes it is possible, retain sperm, animal's mislabeled.
The way you judge a good breeder is by the way they work with you to make it right if a mistake occur.
