Anyone else into Folk Metal or Symphonic Metal? (a Headbangers Paradise)

So I'm an all around Metal head... I listen to everything from Norwegian Black Metal to Death Metal to Progressive Metal, but have recently really gotten into Celtic Folk Metal. It isn't too often that you hear bagpipes along with heavy metal guitar or electrified mandolin lol.

Here is a band called Eluveitie, they are a Swiss Folk Metal band

Enter Apocalyptica, a metal band with no guitarists... only Cellos:

Then there is Symphonic Metal... This is what got me into metal in the first place.

Here are some of my favorites:

Progressive Neo-Classical Symphonic Metal Band, Symphony X:

Symphonic Norwegian Black Metal band, Dimmu Borgir:

Greek Blackened Symphonic Deathmetal band, Septicflesh:

Italian Blackened Symphonic Technical Deathmetal band, Fleshgod Apocalypse:

    Progressive Metal Band Dream Theater:

And finally Djent, an offshoot of Technical Metal

Feel Free to discuss anything that is Metal \m/

I am in to pretty much any metal EXCEPT Cookie Monster vocals. I have never been able to get in to that.

    Ugh I love apocalyptica!

Haven't heard any of the others you posted but I am sure checking them out.

I have been a metal head since I was about 4 years old.

I'm a big fan! Folk, neo-classical, operatic, symphonic, black, death, Japanese, and progressive metal. I love it all, new and old. Its also costly to import for the non torrent using individual.

In my middleschool music class i did a project on Metallica and for the background info i explained how they originally wanted to name their album Metal Up Your A$$, instead of Kill 'em All. I got sent to the principles office bc the teacher said it was innapropriate. Ever since then ive loved metal haha.

Thats some pretty cool stuff aaron, havent heard of most of it before. Thanks for sharing!
