2012 Clutch #2 (My first clutch ever!!!)

So my second clutch of the year is in the incubator!!! This is the first clutch I have ever produced. I rescued the female in November, she was dehydrated and underweight(1000grams). Got her on a good feeding regimen and she blew up to 1700 grams by March.

I started pairing her with my Bumblebee and before the end of March my Wife noticed that she already had 5 Huge Follicles!!! She started refusing the male early last month and we missed her Ovy, But this Morning I found her sitting on 5 beautiful eggs they all candled with strong veins so they appear to be fertile!!!

Now the person I got this girl from said she was 5 maybe 6 years old and said she was a male.

She had never been with another Snake prior to my pairing her I was really not expecting eggs until late this summer or early fall from this pairing but this is AWESOME!!!

Congrats on your first clutch! and Good luck with the big 60 day wait, its gonna be hard to try and not peek at those eggs for a bit.

Sounds you just had super perfect timing when you paired her and caught her follicles at the best time to be fertilized so quickly. Either way I hope all goes smoothly and you get some beautiful bee's

Yeah I feel like we hit the jackpot on the timing with her. Craziest part is I have another female that I bred to my Bee that we also felt 5 big follicles in not 2 weeks after we found them in the first girl.



The second female is starting to heat seek and get a little ridge backed but she hasn't had her ovy as far as I can tell, but I've got a third Tub set up in the bator anyway!

The first clutch I've ever produced I'm such a proud papa!!!


She was 1700 grams prelay and this morning She weighed in at 1050 grams so this is a 650 gram 5 egg clutch from a Bumblebee to Normal. Odds Gods smile on me!!!
