    New rescue

Well a neighbor who knew i had snakes is giving me his snake that he doesn't want. It was his daughter's and she went off to college. Snake hasn't eaten in 3 weeks he says he's in shed and is in bad shape. So i need help. Given the state that i may think he may be in what should i do first. I plan on cleaning the tank the guy is giving me and setting up the heat and and humidity the best i can. Should i feed him fuzzies or just a normal size mouse? I'll take pics as soon i get him tomorrow. I hope he is ok.

3 weeks is not very long to have not eaten. I would set it up with proper temps and humidity and once it sheds, offer an appropriate sized prey item. I would wait 1 week before handling or feeding as well, to let it settle into its new home.

How old is this snake? How long did your neighbor have him? The reason I ask is because most BPs move past mice and on to rats pretty early in life.

    Re: New rescue

He hasn't said how old or how big....the way he describes him i'd say he's about 2 ft long if that. I'm going to get him in a few minutes. Got a spot for him all set up.
