Odd Behavior

I've had my BP for almost 9 mo. and everything seems to be alright. I have not had any issues feeding, humidity seems alright, no issues with sheds, etc. The only concern was after a shed a couple of sheds back there was a slight nose whistle. It slowly seemed to go away and after the most recent shed, we've effectively never heard it since. It was probably a stuck scale from a previous shed as per the advice and opinions of this forum.

In the last month or so, we've noticed her sitting like this [see picture]. Actually any time after April 8th, because according to my records that is when she got the new dome homes. They're about 6 inches tall. They're the Exo-terra X-large reptile cave to be specific.

Is it just me, or does it seem odd that a snake would sit in that posture? She does it probably less than half of the time, maybe even less than a quarter of the time, with the other times sitting with her head flat on the ground or coiled up inside (you know more normal positions). My wife says the BP sits like that only 5% of the time. Either way, it seems totally weird to me.

What do you guys and gals think?

That really doesn't seem all that abnormal to me. All of my snakes do this, particularly when they are getting hungry. I am not an expert by any means but I don't think you have anything to be concerned with at all here.

I had a dome like that while using a tank type set up. Mine did the same. He enjoyed sitting inside with his head resting on the outside often in the same position as yours. So I don't think there's anything odd about it.

She might just be hankering for the ambush hunting days of her ancestors. I don't see anything abnormal about it. I actually think it's pretty cool

I would only start to maybe think about being a teeny bit cautious if her whistle came back or if she developed any other signs of a respiratory infection....but I worry really easily Wheezing/crackling breaths, mucus etc. etc. I've heard that with advanced RI's where their lungs have a lot of fluid in them they can rest with their head and neck elevated to assist their breathing.....but I think it would have to be pretty bad for them to posture like that as a result of not being able to breathe. If she's looking healthy then she's probably just being cute and getting comfy like everyone else has said
