So I just weighed my snakes and they are lighter then what I was told, I assume that's because they weren't able to eat because of shipping so my rats are going to be a little big, but is it ok for a 160g snake to eat a 30gram rat? when it should be a 24g rat? Thanks for your help.

Plus in just a few feedings those 30 gram rats will be perfect.

I tend to feed 10-15% mass for smaller snakes so 16-24gm 30 is ok bit on the large size 20% mass. Make sure it is not larger around than the snake is. Typically they will not try something too large I personally don't see any point to testing that theory either.

Thanks I assume that means the 45gram rats should be fine for my 288 gram snake 15% would be 43.2. Thank you everyone.

I never really got into weighing the rats and doing a percentage for the snakes meal. I look at the snake and the widest part of them an give them something a bit smaller. I never had an issue with any of my snakes not gaining weight, in fact they have great weight gains.
