    Pure and total bull

Wow...I'm not sure what I did to get the karma for this one but I'm sitting in a parking lot waiting for a mechanic for possibly the most ridiculous car trouble ever. I was driving my Scion and a trash bag lying in the road flew up under my car, into the engine, and is now wrapped around and stuck in my serpentine belt. Oh joy.

Evidently my car counts as wildlife and yes, the warnings we've always heard about bags harming wildlife are very very true. Of course its even more sad when its a poor turtle or duck or something dang now I made myself sad about animals too

Thats so random that its nearly cosmic. I mean- theoretically we know crud like that could happen but no one ever expects it to! I'd sit your car down and have a serious talk about trying to negate dangers in its life. No crossing an intersection without looking both ways, don't let strangers in, and don't swallow plastic items that can cause it to choke- sensible issues. Good luck!

At least it shouldn't be difficult or expensive to fix. I mean, probably all that needs to be done is to cut out as much plastic as possible and then rotate then engine enough to release the rest from the belt. Presuming you're not mechanically declined, you could probably even take a stab at it yourself...

Your story does make me glad my Audi has a belly pan, though.

Mountain bikes are for slow people, and reptiles are far better pets than cats & dogs!

Im not a "car guy" by any means but i love the look of mk3's and most VW's in general. I would love to get a mk3 someday and tinker with it. I also love golfs and the newer style rabbits (i think theyre rabbit or maybe still called golfs, idk). I read in some magazine that by 2018 VW will probably be the #1 car manufacturer in the world!

    You know what?
A garbage bag full of cr*p just few into my hood, but it just got stuck on the grill part.

And not too long ago, a bag full of chicken wire flew off a truck and got stuck under my car as I was driving on the highway....I was dragging that thing for a good 15 miles....
My car is an Acura RSX so it's really low. It catches everything over a foot tall...

Why can't people secure the trash on the back of their trucks or just not dump it on the side of the road and what not?!?! People are just lazy these days....

Thats was gonna be my suggestion, pull off as much as you can, and turn it over, the remaining pieces should fly out. if not repeat till it is gone, why pay a tow truck fee or a mechanic to do it.

Get in there with the appropriate size socket/rachet and release the tension off of the tensioner and pull the plastic out from under the belt...easy fix, car guy or not!!
