Long Haired Rats?
I saw a post a few months ago where a long haired rat popped up in a litter from a Harley carrier.
Who else has seen interesting coat morphs show up?
Annnnd... pictures please! I love to see them!

I have "Silky" haired rats. No not the silkied pictured in Google, but ones that have an abnormally soft and shiny coat. I will have to get a picture later. It must be recessive because I only have babies pop up every once in a while.

Yes I do have a few hold backs. I just don't want everyone to get too excited because rat photography is definitely one of my downfalls. It seems like you can never get their true color or to get them to hold still.
Hmm maybe I can Co2 them just a tiny bit?

Do you have a motion or "Sport" option on your camera? Some of the neat point and shoot digital cameras are nice enough to have these features.
I find taking many pictures of one animal generally yields a good shot or two.
But I am sure whatever you can capture will have us in awe and maybe a little envy

I have one female rat who is "extra shaggy". Not long haired, and she's supposed to have been maybe a rex, so that's probably where the shaggy came from.
I heard of long haired rats in some lab colonies... and I wish I could get a hold of one of those. Would be cool.

I'm with you; I'd love to keep a long haired rat or two.
