Supportive better half? Who has it and who doesn't?

I figured we could discuss this topic

I feel like I am one of the luckiest men around. My girlfriend is as supportive as possible with my passion. She helps with all my various reptile and rodent related chores. She's even invested in some Albino projects with me! We both own the Black Pastel het Albino male and Pastel het Albino female that we're hopefully going to make Black Pewter Albino with next season. I also own two smoking Albino girls that we were going to breed the the Black Pastel het Albino. We just had a slight change of plans. Yesterday my girlfriend decided she wanted to buy a Spider het Albino male! So now on top of the projects we were planning we can shoot for Spider Albinos next season! I literally feel like I'm the luckiest man alive. I have a better half that supports my passion and helps me with it. I couldn't ask for anything more.

So who has something like this? And who has the opposite?

Looking foward to reading everyone's thoughts and posts.

    Regards,

    B

My wife never had a reptile before meeting me. Now she cleans snake tubs and takes care of the rats! Says she likes doing it because it gives her time with each snake her favorite is one of our Asian water monitors, treats him like one of our children. We are to the point now where she is asking to go to NERD for her birthday, haha.

It's a beautiful thing isn't it? My girlfriend was actually deathly afraid of snakes before she met me. She found it interesting that I was into them. It's one of the reasons we first started talking.

My wife got me my first snake, but I took it to the next level with LOTS of them. Now, she does not help with the snakes, but does all my rat and mice feeder breeding....I do not clean/water/feed the rats or mice.....she does it all.

Could not ask for a better wife.....

My wife actually talked me into my first pair of morph BP's. She is 100% supportive and even has a few of her own BP projects in the works. I think I have taken it further than she expected it to go, but she is still totally supportive. It certainly is a great feeling to have their support!

My hubby brought home our first snake. Why he did was a mystery to me, since he knows absolutely nothing about snakes. When I asked him what he was doing and what he knew about snakes his reply was " That's what I have you for honey." Gee thanks.

Since I knew very little myself, we eventually had to admit we were in over our heads, and rehomed both of our rescues.

Then a few years later, he decided that the ideal gift to me would be the Pied ball I'd always wanted. Of course, they were waaaayy out of our price range, but he was thoughtful enough to contact a breeder on his own from his work, find out some much needed information, and purchase me a pair of 100% het pieds.

So, I jumped online to find out everything I could about how to care for them. It didn't take me long to find this place, and there was no going back. I went from my original pair to 18 snakes in less than 2 years. Hubby has been nothing but supportive of my addiction, and eventually got interested enough to get one of his own. Which rapidly turned in to two, then three and now four. He has his own breeding projects now, and we both enjoy the time we spend at reptile shows and on morph websites.

He has also been very supportive and tolerant of my mouse breeding colonies, and took the bull by the horns and started his own ASF colony. So, even though my support is from the other side of the coin, it still makes me happy to know how much he loves me and cares about what makes me happy.

That's amazing Jason. I'm really allergic to my rodents. It sucks because I enjoy rat keeping quite a bit. I could probably survive a few rats but when you're breeding for a decent sized collection it is hard on my lungs. Without my girlfriends help I'd be out there at least twice as long. Very cool.

Haha, look what she started! That's awesome Jordan. It really is amazing to have that kind of support. I'm sure I could manage without it but it sure makes the tough days a lot easier.

My Wife is great about my reptile habbit with the exception she says no more snakes (yet) but she lives Black Pewters so ther is hopw. The only issue we have with my snakes is the feeders I bring home which become pets . So I just ensure she doesnt see them before the snakes eat them and well I am only keeping 2 rats as pets right now

Wow. What an awesome story Gale. Sounds like you two have quite a thing going. I might be on your heels. My girlfriend went from scared, to helping, to part owner, to OWNER in about a year. We just celebrated our first year dating anniversary yesterday Thanks for sharing.
