Like many have said welcome to the wonderful world of boas. I am like you, I got one boa because I thought they were awesome and don't intend on breeding. He is a wonderful looking boa. Enjoy.

    Re: I did it........

Thanks everybody! I think he is great, I don't really care what he is since I have no breeding plans. But he is just cool. Such a different experience than a bp. Don't get me wrong, I still love love my bps!

Very nice!!! Now.... there is no such thing as het for pastel with a boa. There is no pastel morph. Pastel is a line that is selectively breed for certain traits but it is not a morph. Basically, a pastel is a boa without a lot of black peppering and typically comes from a long line of selective breeding in order to obtain those qualities.

BTW, you will NEVER get that snake to sit still for pictures. They are much more active and curious when out than BP's. They will be constantly on the move.

I believe all snakes need the ability to hide. Now, my baby boa's just get a water dish that they can hide under and it costs me $1.32 at Walmart for this water dish. Some of my older boa's are really stressed out and need hides, so they get cat carriers (half). The rest just get newspaper over their substrate and they feel secure hiding under the newspaper just fine.

    Re: I did it........

Oh, yeah, that snake is definitely a hypo. That means the snake lack's a lot of the black pigmentation. The snake will have more reds, oranges, and browns as an adult.

Oh, yeah, I want to point out. Make sure you quarantine. You probably already are quarantining but I quarantine every single snake that comes into my house even if it came from my best friend. I have invested too much money in my collection for a what if scenario to play itself out
