The advice you posted is really good. Just seems to me (perhaps I'm just reading it all wrong) that people have been posting and advising her that the set up she has is less than ideal for her BP, but she really isn't interested in anything but showing and telling people about this "zoo". Tell me if I'm wrong
    No i agree with you

Honestly, I don't think she's logged on since her "advice" post.

Mmm. I hope she took something constructive away from somebodys post at least.

Thank you for the compliment. My interpretation of the thread was just that the OP came in very excited about something that seemed to be a great idea. The very quick multitude of responses were pretty much NOOOO!!! (from a LOT of people), which she initially responded to by undefensively giving the Facebook page info, so people redirected to give advice. At this point, though, I think she may have been on edge from that first onslaught and not as open to advice, which in turn came out as sarcasm, ad nauseam, ad nauseum. That's the only reason I felt the need to jump in, because I don't think anyone had any intention of being snotty, it just took a bad turn.

As I said before, hopefully the OP will consider the advice given by everyone and we can all sing "Kumbaya" into the sunset.

To Slim's last post - Looking at when this thread started, I think I have a different sleep schedule from the OP.

so lets start by asking questions on ball pythons.
[B]1. WHY CANT MY BALLPYTHON HAVE ALOT OF ROOM?
all i was really wanting to do was to make her home more "wild" like. i originally had two. mac was my male and he got out four years ago. siss was always a picky snake. i almost lost her a few times. once was cause i was feeding mice and she wouldnt eat for three monthes. then i talked to the guy that picked my male out for me. he had me take her in there and took her to the back of the store. he tried to give her a mouse and she wouldnt eat so he tried a rat and he barely was able to release it. so i now will only feed rats. then mac dissapeared. and once again siss quit eating. my mom gave me a spider plant and everyone that i talked to said that no it wouldnt hurt her. so i planted it in her tank.
[B]2. WHY WOULD MY BALL PYTHON WANT TO "SOAK" ALL THE TIME?
i wanted the pond so that when she decided to "soke" herself it would be a constant 75 and a filter so that it doesnt get stagnent.

and my vet knows that i have a pond with heated filtered water and a few plants and non-treated soil so that it wouldnt hurt her. i have tried all the other substrate that were said for ball pythons. i ended up with problems from my snakes getting mites, having my snakes trying to eat the different beddings. the vet said that top soil is fine for her and the plants are not harmful to her and actually are good cause they promote oxagyn. he said that the fish are ok but they would probably end up food for the snake.
he said just dont go overboad. witch the fish are done. its fun watching the few that are in there. also for sure one of the anoles have to come out since one of my "females" ended up being a male. the treefrog likes to stay over by the water and eats the nats and flys that end up in the tank. and chubby i just hear.
im not saying that i am not taking your advice. i am taking advice on helping everyone live together. i wash the inside of the tank glass every other day so noone is drinking nasty water off the glass. i am going to get new thermomiter and the humidity.
i was not trying to be mean but all that i was getting was that i needed to take the snake out, but it was originally hers so it upset me and also for the fact that it says that its too big, and that was the "advice" that i was talking about and then it was just sarcasm. well im sorry that i have a verry big imagination and just want to make the animals feel at home.
so i also looked at the care sheets and the only one that was out of the temp is the chubby frog. but again thank you. and yes i truly do mean it.

She can have room but ball pythons are not from a tropical environment and should therefore never be in the same habitat as geckos and frogs.

Fact is, your snake is in an incorrect environment and I would not be surprised if she develops an RI or scale rot because of the improper conditions she's being kept in.

If your snake is getting mites, keep on newspaper or paper towels and treat the mites with Provent-A-Mite. The reason she's soaking is because she has mites and your setup isn't doing anything for that. It's also probably part of the reason she went off-feed.

Also you need a new vet. The one you have is completely inept in that he's only encouraging you to do what you're doing and harm all your pets.

It's housing animals together that just aren't supposed to be housed together. How can a BP feel at home in an environment nothing like its home? It's very well and good having a big imagination, so do I, so do a lot of people on the forums. But surely expressing your imagination in this way is going to cause your BP a world of problems, and would be better put to use on an enclosure with the correct conditions?

More "wild" like BUT wrong location. You have a ton of knowledge here trying to help you and you are not open to any of it. I am not saying there is only one way to keep balls BUT yours had all kinds of red flags that are just waiting for problems.

Not eating for 3 months is nothing! I have a male that hasent eaten in 8 months and lost almost 200 grams, he is sooooo looking for love
Now what were the "other" times?

That should tell you something there. Anyway you look at it, probably some skin problem.

Okay, Chubby and Tree frogs have almost the same requirement and having 18 of our own frogs, we dont even keep them all together. Matter fact none are mixed, and only live with their kind.
