Eden FINALLY ate for the first time last night after what I approximate as at least a six week fast. Its the first time she's eaten since I've had her. My question is: The mouse she had wasn't very big (under full grown) and I was told she needs adult mice. She finished it off pretty quickly and then kept looking around her cage like she wanted more. She has been out of her hide a couple of times since then too. I have some jumpers in the freezer, so should I thaw one out and see if she wants another today? The first mouse was live, but I'm wondering if its too soon after her last one. Will it make her sick to have another little mouse today? I sooooo dont want to clean up second hand mousey if she regurgs. EEEEEEEeeeeeeeewwwwwwww.

you should be feeding a prey item that is approximately the same size around as the girth of your snake. As soon as your bp starts to move around after the first meal (usually 5-10 minutes), it is ok to feed again. I generally try not to wait longer than 1 hour between meals. My bps both eat multiple f/t adult mice. Feeding multiple live means that you just have to watch them longer. Post some pictures of your snake with a ruler or something to reference size and I am sure we will know what she needs. Hope that helps...ask more questions if you are not sure about something.

I only ended up with the smaller mouse because thats all the pet store had left at the time. I kept the mouse and fed it for about 2 weeks because she (the snake) wasnt feeding. We even gave the mouse a temporary name..lol So I guess I will wait till next week and try again with an adult mouse. I cant post a pic yet... no digital camera of my own. Thanks for the help.

there should be no problem feeding your snake twice. If it seems like it could eat more, then feed it more. I feed my snake two mice in a feeding, usually one after the other, but sometimes i feed him one mouse a night for 2 nights. i think regurgitation happens as a defence and not becasue of over feeding. The snake should eat what it needs.
