When should I (hopefully) be expecting?

Im curious, since I got started so late in the season ( my male locked up with my female 3 days ago and has been ever since). He finally let go today and I separated them. I fed them both and im giving them a break from each other. This was they're first lock up of the season..

I'm keeping the daytime temp about 83-85 and the night time time about 77-79 (hot spot of 90 24/).
If everything goes good, when should I be expecting some eggs? I'm not asking for an exact date, but can anyone give me an estimate?? I wanna know so I can purchase a incubator and get it set in time.

    Thanks so much !!

    -Mark

It's pretty much impossible to say, as ovulation depends on follicle size more than anything. If your female has some nice big palpable follicles, it could be within 2 months. If she has small follicles, it could be more than twice that. If she's not building follicles at all, it could be next season. You get the idea, haha.

That being said, if you're breeding now, buy/make an incubator now. It's always going to be better to have these things sooner than later. Also start thinking about hatchling/juvenile housing. Best of luck with everything! These guys will make you pull your hair out a few times along the way to hatchlings, haha.

    Cheers,
    -Matt

Re: When should I (hopefully) be expecting?

Ive been pairing since sept and I have only have 1 girl due to lay anyday now and 3 more who are about to ovulate and 3 more that probably wont go. So thats about 8 months with a 57% success rate. Its varies considerably but hope your a patient person or you will go nuts.
