Purchasing a Scale for my snakes! [Advice needed!]

    Hello Ball Python enthusiasts,

In the past i used my friends very small scale to weigh my snake, since then Lilly [My pastel ball python] has outgrown this instrument. I now plan to invest a little money into a scale and was wondering everyone's opinion on this product, and if anyone uses something similar or identical.

    Link to item found here.

I figured that this scale would be the most economical scale to purchase as it is free shipping to my local store. This compared against scales from other distributors who would charge at least 10 dollars just in shipping.

    Outputs: Grams, Ounces, Pounds
Ranges from: 3,000 grams to 1 gram
    Intervals of: 1 gram
Accuracy of the instrument could be theorized as + 1 gram

    Thanks ahead of time,

Mine looks like this. I got it a Bed Bath and Beyond. It was $50, but I used a 20% off coupon. Has a 11lb capacity.

Very nice, i think i am going to order it. The worst that can happen is i am out of 20 dollars, and or my snakes weight can be off by a few grams. But being a chemist i will have ways to testing its accuracy .

I have the scale from reptile basics (got mine on Amazon tho), it goes up to 7000grams. Was around $30 I believe works great, and came with a tub to weigh with...

While I have a different scale, my boyfriend uses the one you posted for his ball. It works great without complaints.

I picked mine up at the local Walmart. 5000g capacity digital kitchen scale. Works great and was like $25 or so.

I am using the exact scale you posted - got it at Bed Bath & Beyond for $15. I imagine my bp will outgrow it eventually, but it seems really accurate. I've actually been weighing him in the scooped-out hollow cardboard thing it was packaged in!

    Wow this thread blew up!

Thank you everyone for posting your experiences with your scales and the average price ranges as well. Currently i have had my pastel ball python for about a year and a month now. The last time i was able to successfully weigh her she was at approx. 330 grams (This was back in 06/03/2011).

I am guessing she is upwards around 800+ grams. She has grown so much in the last year is ridiculous. The free shipping on the site to store through wal-mart is a little long but can't be the price [FREE), so i will have an official weigh in some time in the beginning of April (4th through 6th).
