Question on humid hides
For those of you that use humid hides, do you have just one hide for your snake to use or do you make your cool and warm hides humid when they are getting ready to shed?

In the past when I used humid hides, I placed one on the warm end of the tank (under the hot spot) when I noticed my ball pythons coloring getting dull. Warm air holds humidity better and a snake that is about to shed prefers to be warm.
Hope this helps.

I have an extra hide that i keep as a humid hide (it is a very large gladware type container). When shed time come, I just drop it in on the warm side. That keeps me from moving stuff all around.

Thanks Adam,
That is a lot of help. Right now I'm just using some plastic bowls with an opening cut in the side as hides. I was planning on making a bed of moist moss but wasn't sure if I should do it to both hides, or just one. My only concern was that she doesn't seem to like the warm hide for whatever reason. The last couple of mornings I found her on the branch curled up Chondro-style under the blacklight instead of in her warm hide. The branch was probably warmer at the time since the warm hide was about 86F, but she still spends most of her time in the cool hide which is about 78F-82F.

Daniel,
What do you use as a substrate in the hide?

The opening looks a little rough? Just a thought, you can heat the plastic using a lighter or a blow torch; it'll make the entrance smooth.
