How Do You Setup A Backup Tstat?
I am having a hard time visualizing this.
So a standard Tstat setup is:
- Tstat plugs into wall.
- Rack or power strip plugs into Tstat.
- If power strip, racks plug into power strip.
So how and where does a 2nd Tstat come into play?

Ok, to set up a back up thermostat you have to have 2 thermostats and one of them must be a on/off style. The on/off style thermostat will be the backup.
The backup up thermostat plugs into the wall and the main thermostat plugs into the backup thermostat. The main thermostat will be set at the desired temperature and the backup will be set at the highest temperature that you want the backup thermostat to kill the power if it is reached. The main thermostat is set up exactly the same way as it would be in a single thermostat set up except the fact that it is plugged into the backup thermostat and not the wall.

Here's how it was explained to me. First t-stat plugs into second t-stat; second t-stat plugs into wall. Both t-stat probes taped to heating element. first t-stat set to get the proper heating level, second t-stat set about three degrees higher than first incase of failure.

So going off my initial setup is this correct?:
- Backup Tstat plugs into wall and set to a tolerable high temp.
- Main Tstat plugs into Backup Tstat (which is always on due to higher temp setting)
- Rack or power strip plugs into Tstat.
- If power strip, racks plug into power strip.

Sounds right.

Sounds like you have the general idea.
