pet stores keeping stock year round

I am looking for some info and guidance. There are a couple pet stores in the houston area that I sell frozen feeder rats to. I was talking to two of the and the owners both told me that If I was welling to breed normal balls, they would take them up from me and even pay me a little extra as a providers fee.

So I was wondering how many summer breeders are there, and is this the way that pet stores keep them in stock.

Also these are the only two stores I will do this with because of the conditions they keep there animals. There is one petstore I am about ready to stop doing business with all together, they would try to sell a normal as a het for Pied or something expensive. and the condition of the pet store is rancid, and I to told them I was going to stop selling feeders to them if they didn't start providing crummy housing for there reptiles.

no they order from large scale producers and wholesalers. they only buy local at good prices. I sell locally but really only sell to one pet shop thats an hour away cause they are pretty good with their reptiles

these two stores prefer buying local. It cuts them down on shipping cost,

Most pet stores buy their BPs from shipments that come from Africa. The snake hunters there catch year round so there is a constant supply for the stores.

These stores sound different though. They might buy older hatchlings in the summer months. I've never tried summer breeding. I do know that some people have had success with it though.

I am taking in an order tonight with one of the stores. I am going to see if she can't give me info on her supplier, she I know all of hers are captive bred BPs.

There are some breeders that breed year round to always have balls to sell as opposed to the winter cycle breeding.
