    Debit cards at expos?

I just found out I'm going to the Hamburg expo in April with a considerable chunk of money, and I'm not entirely comfortable walking around with a huge wad of cash.

I know feeder dealers usually take card, but what about the breeders? I don't remember seeing any doing so at the White Plains show last year, but then, I wasn't looking for it.

At the white plains show there is an atm machine right in the lobby you first walk in to. I honestly wouldnt worry about it too much bc for the most part people at expos are pretty good people. With that said however i too trust no one so i have one of those string back pack/ sacks. I use it to hold my wallet and anything i buy. When i wanna make a purchase i just get the money outta my bag and then put the purchase/wallet back in. Basically its a man purse lol... But ive never had any of my stuff stolen so whatever lol...

I have seen some vendors that do take debit/credit cards at shows. But, if I remember correctly they had to charge tax if you used a card to pay. This could just be something that they have to do here in Arizona, but I would look into it before you definitely decide to not use cash. Also as Mike41793 stated there are almost always ATM machines available at shows but sometimes they will charge a rather large fee for you to use them.

The breeder/vendors I've seen at shows take card. They all had card reader adapters on their phones and ipads.

    Re: Debit cards at expos?

we went to the arlington show last month and purchased several babies with debit?credit cards. 1 vendor we bought from only did pay pal. and there was an ATM. however, i would take your cash with you just incase you fall in love with something from a vendor that does not take plastic.

Although I understand your concern for carrying money, take into consideration that you can save more $$$ with cash. Any time I have asked "is that the best you can do?" in regards to anything, not just ball pythons, the seller always asks "are you paying cash?".

Some do some don't however there is always an ATM at shows and also in the age of smart phones more and more people have now the ability to take credit card through Paypal or Square just ask the breeders they will let you know what form of payment they accept.

    Re: Debit cards at expos?

When I am vending at a show me and alot of other venders do take cards. I use square( so do some of the venders I know). If they don't then there should be an ATM around some where just ask the vender they should know where it is. But, I have notice a growing # of venders using square( which is a good thing because I hate having large amounts of cash on me).
