why doesnt the government and snake enthusiasts...

im sorry if this has been said before and im sure it has at some point, many times. instead of sinking millions potentiality billions into ending the snake trade why doesnt the government and snake enthusiasts come together and create a controlled snake rescue program so someone that is overwhelmed by their snake can pick up the phone or email for removal? this would only cost a fraction of them fighting us and us losing this industry we love so dearly. its ridiculous in this day and age that someone should even consider setting them free in the wild. this will eliminate all of the everglades concerns and put a serious hurting on this act against us. tell me why this could or couldnt work. blast me if you must...

Because it's political. All of this is a power play for FL Congressmen. They couldn't care less about a real solution.

Please know also the democrats on the committee in the Senate that oversees the Lacy Act are playing to one of their largest donors in an election year. The infamous HSUS. They don't even care if what they are doing is legal or not. They are simply playing the game so the HSUS will be happy and continue to work for and support them. Remember that when you vote this time.

it most certainly isn't just the Democrats, remember who started most of these bills: reps from Florida.

trust me it is a pretty red state overall

You might want to check before you speak. The Senator from Florida who is ramroding this is a Democrat by the name of Bill Nelson. There are no republicans on this subcommittee that are of any significance. Have a good one.

Nelson isn't the guy heading up the most recent attack, it's Republican Tom Rooney.

I am completely aware that democrats are involved, I simply was saying that they aren't the only ones...

My those words of mine taste sooo good. The Senate oversees the lacy Act. I was not aware this began in the house. I will be calling my Rep today. Every one else should do the same.

Chaffetz is one we know was against it. He was voting no regardless of our call in.
