What size prey are you feeding your snake? Sometimes after consuming a larger meal a snake will soak in the water bowl.

    Some are just weird

I know it happens for no reason sometimes, could be an impending shed, or I'd double check on the mites. Out of my 16 snakes I've only ever seen them soak when I found mites...

    If no reason, no worries

If you're positive you don't have a mite problem, and your enclosure humidity is good to go, then my guess would be an upcoming shed. How long have you had this BP? Is this his first shed with you, and is this his first winter shed with you?

Very well could be what's going on here. You might just have a soaker on your hands. They all have their own personalities and little quirks.
