Some do, but weight isn't the only requirement. They also have to be old enough to be sexually mature. Some are some aren't, there is no garentee, and even if they are ready some still won't breed their first time around the block.

You can, but just because you get them up to size doesn't mean they will breed. I know plenty of people that have gotten 6 month old males to breed, and plenty of people that had to wait a year or more before the male would breed.

Male generally get to breeding size way before a year of age, if they are producing sperm plugs they can breed, now because they can does not mean they will, and because they can does not mean YOU (if you are inexperienced) should breed a young male as breeding can take it's toll on a male and it can be bred to death if not careful.

Sure they can get to breeding size in one year but that doesnt mean they will breed. I would not stake your plans on a male going in one year. I have had 5 males this year get up to size from last years babys and none of them would breed this year. The biggest one was 700 grams and he wouldnt do a thing. I have had a little luck over the years but not much. Again dont bank on it at all.

I have an 8 month old at 500 grams and he won't breed yet. No plugs and no interest. It all depends. I'm hoping he will be ready for a very late season breeding soon but who knows. It's all up to him.

They are little opaque, gooey, blobs. If you pop a male that is producing plugs you'll most likely get a bit of urine or poo if he's really unhappy about being popped, but you'll also get sperm. And it looks pretty much exactly like what you'd expect it to. Only a bit thicker.

You find them in the water of males that soak also. Just a bit of cloudy goo.
