First Carpet Python
So I saw someone selling young coastal carpet pythons for £50 and I figured I could quite easily look after one so I went ahead and got one and shes awesome. She's pretty quick so it was kinda hard to get a decent picture and I only had my phone but here she is.

She was sweet as anything while I was holding her before putting her in her tub but when I had put her in and needed to mess with the thermostat probe she struck about 5 or 6 times then got me when I thought I was out of her reach and wasn't looking, it was pretty cool to see her like that to be honest. Anyway the guy said the parents were sold to him as coastals so shes at least mostly coastal but might have a bit of other localities in her. It's really made me appreciate the importance of keeping localities pure.
Hope you guys like her

She's very nice I got my first carpet python a few months back. You'll be very happy with this species.

I put her in her cage at about an hour ago and shes still wondering around exploring and stuff is this just regular carpet behaviour because my house only has an ambient temp of 74 or so she has the heatmat over half with 2 hides and corkbark that can also act as a hide is she just getting used to her new home?

Is the heat mat being regulated by a thermostat?
If the answer is yes, then your carpet is just exploring. They are much more active than any other snake I have ever seen.

Re: First Carpet Python
Congratulations on a nice looking Coastal. They are definitely more curious and active than alot of other snakes. If you have room in her enclosure for a branch or perch to climb on, she will definitely appreciate it.
