    hides

Do you need hides for babies? Since you keep them in such small tubs wouldn't it be hard to put a hide in there?

I'm thinking I can make a hide from a bowl and put it in there though...do you have pics of your baby BP tub enclosures? It would help greatly.

Yes all ball pythons should have at least one hide unless they are in a dark enclosed rack in a small tub.

This is the best thread on this entire site. If you set up your tub like this thread shows you will have a happy ball python:

It really depends, breeders don't tend to separate their babies until their first shed. I don't see a point in hides until you separate them I would give them hides. You can get them the right size for hatchlings. If you plan on keeping them in bins/ racks you don't reaaallllyyy need them - but it's always a good idea to offer them.

I've already bookmarked that. =) I am definitely going to follow that thread step by step! It's a great thread. I just wasn't sure if I needed a hide for a baby because I have seen people not use them...even for adults I have seen them not use them. But now I know and I will definitely use hides. I am going to make my own though for the mean time until the baby gets bigger. Hoping I can get a baby anyways.

I am not going to have a rack. I am going to have it on a shelf because I am only going to have one snake while living here. I think...lol But I am going to use sterilite containers for keeping my snake. I will offer hides.
