Wondering if this is correct...

Just a little confused at the moment and need some clarification.
I thought that if you breed both 100% hets you produce 100% hets.
So why is the calculator showing a 12.5% chance of normals.

Each 100% het carries 1 gene so each snake has a 50% chance of passing on the recessive gene and 50% of not. You are getting 12.5% because of the pastel in this cross. Normally a 100% het x 100% het would give you 25% normal, 50% het, and 25% visual. The pastel in this cross is dividing the 25% normal into 12.5% normal and 12.5% pastel.

yes and no.... you would get 3/8 or 37.5% normal looking animals because you won't be able to know which ones are hets and which are normals. Therefore you would sell all normal looking animals as 66% het clown but be able to charge more then the a normal snake. You would also do the same with your pastels

The calculator is correct you would hatch normals as well as hets out of this pairing however since you do not know which offsprings are will be normals and which will be hets the offsprings in this case will be referred to as 66% Poss Het Clown which is likely what confuses you.

So by pairing a Pastel Het Clown to a Het Clown your chance per eggs would be 12.5% chance per eggs to hatch a Clown, 12.5% chance per egg to hatch a Pastel Clown, the other offsprings both pastels (37.5% chance per egg) and normal looking offsprings (37.5% chance per egg) will be considered 66% Het clown.
