Rack are very easy to make. If you look up "diy snake rack" or "build your own snake rack" on youtube theres videos that show you exactly what to do. Ive seen most racks made out of the plastic shelving units they sell at lowes/home depot or out of melanine. Both of these methods are fairly easy and cheap. (Melanine can get expensive depending on how many sheets you need though). You could also look on your local craigslist and find someone getting rid of a dresser/entertainment center/shelving unit and then do some simple modifications to make it into a suitable rack. I did this with an old dresser in my basement and it worked out very well for me. The only thing is i can only fit 4-6 bps in it. For me right now i will never have more than that so its perfect. If you have alot of snakes though then I wouldnt go that route. I hope this helps
Here is a pic of the rack I built last week. I had the guy at home depot cut the sheet of melamine into 12 pieces 16x24" The sides are made from 16x48" shelves. From there you iron on edging where the melamine was cut, and start by putting the top shelf in place and building it upside down. And don't forget to use a spacer or you wont be able to slide the tubs. And make sure to pre-drill your holes so the melamine doesn't split.
While it did take me an entire evening, I did save a bunch of money and the satisfaction of building something was worth it.
