Messiest snakes?
I was talking with a friend of mine, who said he would never consider having an Indigo because of the cleanup and mess involved - said they are known for having large amounts of smelly, sticky poops. Any Indigo keepers out there? Is this true? Are there other species that are also known for being messy? Just wondering if this is a WC parasite issue, or if some species (like the Indigo) just need more cleaning up than others.

Re: Messiest snakes?
I don't know about Indigos, but my messiest snake is, by far, my Dumerils Boa. He drinks alot of water and urinates more frequently (about every 2-3 days) and in greater quantities than my others. I have him on aspen bedding, and even just a spot cleaning means that I have to remove, clean, and replace 30-50% of the bedding about twice a week. I have to thoroughly clean his enclosure at least twice a month, whereas the others only need it about once a month...

The indigos and their cousins the cribos are very messy snakes.
THE messiest though, are False Water Cobras. I've never kept another species that could crap more volume than they take in, I kid you not.
I may not be very smart, but what if I am?
