Investing in ball pythons

i have always wanted to breed ball pythons as a hobby but now i want to breed them as a hobby and small job...

i would start out with $4000 dollars because thats all i have right now. i was thinking about getting a female mojave and 2 male normals to start out. the only problem is that im afraid that lot alot of people buy the expensive snakes so they wont buy the BELS that i can produce...

i was also thinking about buying a pied male and 2 het pied females but the price of pieds seems to drop every year.....

if you guys were me what 3 morphs would you buy? for under $2000

can someone also give me the average price for these morphs?...:

just get on some of the classified sites to check prices. They change every year and if your buying mutiple snakes I'm sure you can get a discounted group price. I would get the morph females you like and some double gene males down the road. Good Luck

Agreed. Buy as many codom and/or recessive females you can afford and get them growing up. After their approaching size you can purchase a double/tripe or recessive/codom male and start breeding. That's the most cost effective and efficient way to be profitable.

Buy what you like, it makes taking care of them more enjoyable. Also keep in mind that if your buying hatchlings there'll be 2-3 years before the females are ready to breed which means there will only be money going out and none coming back in for a while.

if i had the money i'd get a triple gene animal like a spinnerblast or a killerbee and get an adult female pastel. From the spinnerblast to female pastel you can get more spinnerblasts, lemonblasts and superblasts. The chances of getting a normal is pretty slim. If you get the killerbee you can get more killerbees and more bumblebees, no normals i think. And the extra money you can get some adult normals and some other neat animals. Female pastels have gone to like 500 dollars.
