Blood caging question
So, I'm about to go pick these up
http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/m...785935727.html
Just wondering how you guys think I should heat these. I don't really want to do radiant heat panel, but I may have too. I'd rather do something with a UTH but I obviously can't put it under the wood so I may be limited lol any ideas ro suggestions?

seems like you could put flexwatt inside the enclosure, and then put porciline tile on top of it..
im not sure of that, but i think that iv read it somewhere... might be an idea.

Do you think a heating pad, under like...linoleum flooring stuck on the inside would work well?

Since wood is such a good insulator, you're going to have to do something like a heat pad of some sort inside on the bottom of the cage, maybe in conjunction with overhead heating via a light or ceramic heater through the screen top. Make sure you use a thermostat.
I'd be more worried about how to sanitize a used wooden cage. Couldn't tell from the small photos whether there was any sealant on the wood.

I used UTH, the heat cable, in my wood cage. I concealed the cable under a piece of glass and then sealed it in so no moister would get near the cable. Works great for me, but I'd like to use a radiant heat panel if it weren't for the price.
Have you thought about a space heater?
