    Invisible OBT...

So I have an OBT sling, and she has created a really cool tunnel system in her acrylic enclosure, topped off with some cool webbing at the entrances. This is okay with me, because as long as she has somewhere to hide when I open that thing I'm happy. However, I haven't actually seen her in quite a few weeks. I still give her water as usual, and she skipped about 3 meals, so I think she was molting. I also saw her little legs upside down (like she molted) through one of her small tunnel openings, leading me to believe she molted inside the tunnel. I really just have no idea if this is normal behavior or not. I literally NEVER see her, and hopefully she'll eat the next meal I offer...

How do you suggest I feed her? Do I stick the cricket in one of her tunnel holes? Just let the cricket go loose and let her find it? She's only recently built the tunnels, she seemed to be eating fine before she molted...but now I can't see if she's even eating, or drinking water.

when my OBT sling recientaly molted, it acted the same way. well, when it was in pre molt it acted this way. a day it molted, it was out and about.. im DEF no expert, but i think that as they start to molt, they get slower and feel volnerable (sp?) and just kinda hide.
if you feel like its molted, take a tooth pick (preferabaly something alot longer) peel the web back and see if you find the molt... i found mines molt last week, so in a day or so, im gonna offer its first meal (sence the molt). BTW these things are FAST.

    Re: Invisible OBT...

With pet holes/pet tunnels, I usually just release two or three appropriately sized crickets/roaches in the enclosure. They get around to finding them. If I noticed they haven't found them after a couple of days, I'll crush the crickets head and place it at the tunnel opening.

I still haven't seen her, starting to get worried. I think I'm going to poke around a little bit tonight or tomorrow just to make sure she's alive...not looking forward to it she kinda scares me even as a sling

Just wanted to update, I think she was definitely molting. I've seen her a couple times out, from a distance. As soon as I approach she disappears into one of her tunnels. I killed a cricket and put it in the "doorway" to one of her tunnels and it was gone the next morning. Thanks for all the advice on this

They are just a weird species. She has a whole tunnel system in her little acrylic enclosure, even though I provide her with a hide lol. I wish I could snap a picture of her but I never see her! Maybe she'll be a little more seen when she gets older, I don't even know if she has any oranges on her yet, every time I get semi-close she books it! Haha
