First Photoshoot With a Light Tent (Pic Heavy, Obviously.)
Aight so today I decided to see if I could throw together a light tent because I for one don't like cell phone pictures. They just don't do the animal any justice. So I did a bit of digging around, and I came up with this.

I made it with the wire frame from a laundry basket, a white tablecloth, a black blanket, and a couple of light fixtures that I had. Worked pretty well for what I had if you ask me.
After a bit of tinkering with the camera trying to find out how to turn off the flash, I wound up taking over 300 pictures of only three animals haha. As you can imagine, it's hard to pick just a few, so I'm going to post all 338 pictures I took today. (Just kidding, I'm just going to pick few.)
Starting with Koga, my male 2010 normal I got last Christmas.
Climbing a tower of my brother's empty duct tape rolls

Destroying said tower

Testing a snake's ability to solve a maze with no solution

Koga could be in an Old Spice commercial if he wanted to.

Look at that stripe :L

Belly Shot, woo!

Go towards the light!

And now, time for the cresties. Up first, Slowbro. Unknown sex, hatched 2011, Christmas present this year. (There'll be less of these, I promise.)

Now for Charizard, Slowbro's cagemate.

Mmm... Gecko snout...

And now, for the grand finale, the moment you've all been waiting for... KOGA'S ADORABLE YAWN PICTURES
I have this sudden urge to shout some gibberish. A phrase I think I know. Maybe something my ancestors did that's in my DNA?

It's getting stronger! I don't know if I can hold it in!

FUS RO DAH!!!

Much better.

Hope you enjoyed Rate, comment, subscr- wait, wrong site. Sorry.

I'd vote for it.

After looking over the photos, I couldn't agree more about the lighting. I hope to be able to get another light soon to have two on the sides and one on top. Dunno how that'll wind up looking, but I didn't know how these would look either, haha. All dramatic lighting effects were accidents.

I was thinking about it, but I couldn't quite decide. I guess since someone else asked I have to now, eh?

Nikon D90. Not sure what lens my dad has on it, but I'm pretty sure it's not the one that came with the camera itself. Here's a link to some info on it. Can't really tell you much about it. http://imaging.nikon.com/lineup/dslr/d90/sample.htm
Can't wait to start some more experimenting with different lighting and backgrounds. Who knows, maybe I'll wind up in the pet photography business someday! (Yeah, right. I'd rather stick a needle in my eye than have to deal with the general public all day.)

I love the yawn photo! You should've posted sooner, you could've had a chance at the December photo contest.

Thanks. A great example of how evil he looks some times.

Posted them the same day as or the day after I took the pictures. I tried submitting the yawn for this month's BPOTM but I was having problems getting the uploader to accept the image.
