Herpstat II question

I just got a herpstat II for Christmas and was wondering do they make a grounded version of this? I know the herpstat ND can be grounded but was unsure about the herpstat II. Their website is down so I can't look online. Thanks for the help!

I do not believe that they do. They have other models like the Herpstat 4 that have grounded plugs. But for the most part grounds are useless.

Ok, thank you thats what I thought. Now I don't think I have come across a power strip that is not grounded, how would you recommend adding more outlets? I would like to wire all my heat tape individually and not in 2 sections.

Not too sure it would still be safe but, I broke off the ground on my laptop's charger(desperately needed juice) at school a few years ago. My charger still works just fine without it, its pretty much just an extra piece of metal on the plug to protect against a power surge. Unless you live in an area with frequent power surges, I wouldn't worry about it too much.

I'm an electrical engineer so I know what I'm talking about lol there are some applications in which removing the ground is a terrible idea (such as expensive/sensitive equipment) but most of the time it is fine. In this case I'm assuming your flexwatt has 2 prong plugs. If this is the case I would get an extension cable like this: http://m.alibaba.com/product-gs/3158...ower_Cord.html

Or break off the ground of a power strip if you need more outlets. They also make 3 prong to 2 prong adapters like this one: http://www.summitsource.com/groundin...00-p-8800.html
