Hadn't thought of contacting any news people or PETA. I had actually been thinking of getting more people involved, maybe contacting a humane society.

The thing is--Texas appears to have no laws on how animals need to be kept. They could be in shoe boxes or zoo enclosures. It is all dependent on if you can prove this is animal cruelty. I'd say they are crossing that line. But there are so many..dumb..people who don't see what we see. I saw a dying ball python, the customers next to me saw a "cool snake".. I see an injured fish, while a family told me how "cute" it looked. People were overjoyed that they 'don't have to buy dechlorinator for the bettas!'

The only reason the animals are still here is price I swear. You would not believe what the customers were saying. That's probably why the reptiles and such are the WORST, because they want to charge 180 dollars for a baby ball python.

I'll get in touch with anyone who can take them down. It looks like the burden of proof will be with us, so they need to know about fish and reptiles enough to realize this isn't normal or healthy!

Anyone of YOU out there who thinks peta is in ANY way on out side is just plain stupid. Yes, I mean stupid.

They and hsus are our sworn ENEMIES. Same thing for most news shows.

Call your department of animal regulation. Call the better business bureau, call the local pound and ask them if permits are necessary to operate a pet shop and if they are, find out if the shop has them and they are up to date.

Calling peta or hsus is like trying to put out a small fire by pouring gasoline on it. Don't involve them.

Unless of course you want to help them take away every pet from every person everywhere in the world. That's what they want. And they're lying sacks of crap to boot.
I may not be very smart, but what if I am?

Yeah... that's why I hadn't thought of contacting them. They don't even pop up in my mind as rescuing animals, just being idiots. I figured it wouldn't go well and would end up with knee jerk reactions to fish and reptiles in general. Don't need Texas to be the next Ohio with legislation and all that. I should have been more clear I still wasn't planning on contacting them haha. By humane society, I meant a local one.

I just emailed the local pounds and humane societies around the store to let them know what is going on to see if they can get involved. Besides, even if someone like PETA were to get involved, all the animals would end up killed or dumped off at that very humane society anyway. I know that permits ARE necessary to run a shop, I can see if they really have theirs.

trust me, I hate peta just as much as anyone else here, bit if nobody else will do anything about it, it might be worth it to call them this ONE time, as a last resort

No, it would never, EVER be 'worth it' to attract the attention of PETA. It's not in the best interests of the reptile hobby, or of the animals themselves. They would consider your well-kept animals to be in just as bad of a situation as the ones in the pet store, make no mistake about it.

If there's one good thing PETA does, it's raise a stink about something.

When you're that full of crap you bring the stink with you.

They're just bad. How is it possible to shake hands with crap and not get any on you?

Not even as a last resort. They're the enemy and in this case the enemy of my enemy is not my friend.

Well, I didn't say it would be the kind of stink you want.

There's a distinct difference between a finely aged cheese, and a dog turd.
