Repti Fogger for Cresties?
Ok so i know most people would just mist but i want to eventually get a nice exo terra (when i finally decide to drop the cash) for my cresties and was wondering if a repti fogger would be too much humidity for them? I would probably only run it like twice a day for a few minutes but I just wanted to make sure it wouldn't be too much humidity. I want this to kind of be my display setup since all my snakes are in racks

I don't think it would be too much humidity if only ran once or a couple times a day. I do think it would be a pain to keep clean. It could harbor lots of bacteria if not regularly maintained. I don't think it's worth it IMO, but to each their own.
I agree, with all of my snakes in racks all the cresties are going in nice display tanks. Single adult males are going in R-zilla acrylic atrium and groups of adult females will be going in 18x18x24 exo terras. I just picked up one of each at the last phoenix show they through in the light fixture for free on the exo!

Alright thanks guys, I'm probably gonna go for it. If i get more cresties i'm sure i'll ditch it and just mist but since i'm only at one now it will be a good touch
Btw eel i really like that R-zilla acrylic atrium, i hadn't seen those and may go the same route you are. Are you keeping 2 or 3 females in the exo terras? And what are you doing for breeding?

I made this post awhile ago: http://ball-pythons.net/forums/showt...t=zilla+atrium
I will be doing a full DIY on rockwalls and setting up the Zillas when I get a chance. They are very affordable, light weight, and easy to clean. It’s by far the best display caging for the money. I have another one sitting in a box for a future stud that I will be doing the DIY on. I have done a few rockwalls and hides and have since taken care of a lot of issues.
For the Exo I plan on having 2-3 females in them. I have yet to breed, but have been reading about it for years. When the time comes I will have a spare tub that a single male and female will go in for a few days and cycle the females with the male (giving ample breaks in between), hopefully to have the females laying at different times. Many people say if you have multiple females in one cage you won't be able to tell who laid for you. I have talked to several breeders and they made it seem pretty easy to tell if you are watching your ladies. If your girl is nice and plump one day and not the next,...well, you guessed it, the eggs are hers!
It seems to actually breed them is as simple as making sure they are of weight and putting them together, simple as that. I'm a by no means a pro at this, just relaying what I've learned over the years.

That's a great setup with the rock wall! I'm gonna have to look into those for sure. And yea everything i've read says it's really easy to breed them. I was just wandering if you needed a separate breeding enclosure. I probably won't last too long before I get another crestie
As for the repti fogger, I've decided I'm gonna go ahead and get one, and when i get more cresties I'm just gonna use it as the mister, it mists better than bottles do and is pretty easy to move around with the hose and all.

Sounds good, they do look cool!
Thanks for the compliments!
You don't need a separate breeding enclosure; many breeders do 3-5 females to one large male. I just want to have a separate tub so I don't get overwhelmed with cresty eggs right off the bat. Slow and steady for me, at least to start.

No problem!
And yea I understand, couldn't you just put one female in with one of the males or are their cages not big enough?

I assume you're only talking about breeding purposes. I'm not 100% sure, but I believe you put the male in with the female to lessen the chances of cage aggression.

Ah ok, that makes sense. And yes i just meant for breeding purposes.
That's why i was wondering if they needed a separate enclosure so neither one of them would think it was "their" space.
