Re: Another humidity issue, but I can't keep it DOWN!*condensation*

Are you using Eco Earth bricks or bags? If its bricks wring as much moisture out as you can before adding it to your tubs. I have a high humidity issue with eco earth for the first day or two in my aquarium if I dont get the excess water out of the Stuff

Turn on a box fan or ceiling fan to move the air around. This will lower the humidity

PIcs of lid and one of the sides.
This side has the same number of holes(+/-) as the one parrallel to it and the other two short sides have 5 in each. (one in each corner and one in the middle)

I went to the local thrift store and picked up a bunch of bowls for around 50 to 75 cents each. I went for stuff that was heavy, around 3 inches deep, and no more than 4 inches in diameter. That minimizes the surface area of the water while giving the snake enough water for drinking. The smaller surface area slows evaporation and keeps the humidity down. This particular bowl needs topped off--I pulled it out of one of the tubs to show you what I'm using.

A small oscillating fan can also be used to increase ventillation. I use one in my snake room to ventilate my tubs. You just have to do a little experimenting with the placement and speed setting to find what works best. Also, if you have a ceiling fan in the room, they can also help with ventilation.

Unfortunately no ceiling fan. But I might have a small fan in my room, just gotta make sure I didn't' put it out of my room.... *not sure where it'd be IN my room*

But sounds like a fan should help a lot?
And luckily last time I checked there wasn't much condensation, but any amount is bad.

    Hah, found it easily.
So I've got Kallista out right now around my neck and I've got my dragon's heat lamp low down on the tub(it's open) to help dry the eco earth and the small fan is blowing on it too, so hopefully that will help.
I'll leave it there for like an hour+ and see if that'll help.
I felt so bad for Kalli, because as soon as I opened the lid, she was OUT OF THERE.

Get a smaller bowl (not as wide) if you continue to have problems. BPs don't need to soak if the humidity is correct.
