    Someone help asap

So I was feeding my three snakes today and after feeding one of them and I looked in a tub, I noticed a blood stain on a newspaper and it shocked me. Can someone tell me why there is a blood stain? She is a proven breeder female ball python 2000g.

First off, do you feet live, prekilled, or frozen/thawed? How big was the meal? How big was the bloodstain? Has she recently shed?

It could be any number of these things.

Has she recently shed? Sometimes you'll see a little blood from the vent when they shed.

Could be from the pret item, just look over the snake for any wounds, if you find any apply regular neosporin.

i feed f/t so can't be the food, has not shed so it can't be that. Blood stain was not that big. Like a short line. It's like the tail of the girl moved left to right to make the line blood stain.

It absolutely CAN be from the prey. I feed f/t as well....and sometimes find blood on the paper after they've eaten. It can leak from the nose, the mouth, or other bodily orifices after the prey has thawed. Some are "bleeding" even before they're given to the snakes.

When was the last time she shed? I notice short lines of blood when my snakes shed sometimes.

can't be the food because I changed the bedding three days ago and when I tried feeding today she didn't eat it or seem interested in it. I think it might be going into shed but that doesnt explain the blood.

To piggy back on what JLC said - it definitely can be from the pray. When I fed my boy f/t a few days ago, there was blood left on my chopstick from the mouse - and could see where some of it was coming from on it.

Edit: Whoops, didn't see your most recent post. . In that case, like others have said - I would check for injuries.

I am with Judy on this one I'd suspect rodent blood. Check the snake over but my guess is prey item.

I didn't catch your post either sometimes there is a spot or two of blood after a shed as well. When was the last shed?
