I hope to heck you are kidding. If you are not you might like to know that over here you would be arrested and jailed for animal cruelty for doing that and forbidden from keeping animals for years after you were released.

Educate yourself regarding feeding live, there are many threads on this site that deal with that very issue.
If a snake has it's eye taken out by a rat then the chances are that it can be related to human error (feeding too large of a rat etc.).

Have to agree, you set yourself up for most of the sarcasm.
Should have made a thread like … How to avoid rat biting my snake etc.
I would go with smaller prey item if you cant handle anything else.
Also, maybe its just me , but I dont see a rat biting a snakes eye. Kinda seems real farfetched to me.

I prefer to staple my rats lips closed. Doesn't necessarily help my snake while pooping, but atleast I don't have to worry about bites
