When should I worry?

I dropped temps in sept. waited a month then introduced my males for 3-4 days at a time giving them 3-4 days rest in between. Here it is November now and I have yet to see a lock. Should I begin to worry or not yet? What should I do to get them to lock? Should I leave the males in there longer? Help!

How old are your males and females, what weight, and are they correctly sexed. If all is good in the above areas no you shouldnt be worried. Maybe a little disappointed. You wont always see locks. I just saw my first lock on my yellow belly 2 days ago and she has been paired a dozen times in the last 2 months. Be patient you might catch one sooner or later but if you dont that doesnt mean they arent lockin up. Best of luck to you.

Same boat here, patience is the key.

All of my females are in serious feed up mode so I'm not worried to much about lock ups yet, I'm still feeding the crap out of them

Introduce and keep pairing and sooner or later mother nature will take over and love will be in the air

Like it was stated earlier... If they are of weight and age, then no need to worry. They will lock when they are ready.

Some tips that might help... Take a shed from another male and put it in her cage. Or, get a sperm plug from another male and rub it on her back. Don't know if these actually work but these are tricks that I have been told to try.

Hope this helps a little but just give it time and have patience.

It is still early....I haven't even started pairing mine yet. Last year I started around Thanksgiving and witnessed only 1 lock. Come January it was a lock fest.

I'm on the patience bandwagon Most people don't even start breeding season till November, and considering we are only a couple weeks into the month, it's still really early. I didn't see my first lock until last weekend.

I start breeding with 2 of my males in sept since they normally poop out early in the season but all the others start getting paired in nov. Give them some time and leave htem in an extra day that might just do it.
