indeed. I have a lovely dinker from petsmart that is a brilliant gold beyond any other normal I've seen, but did you really prove a het pied from a pet store? it's not unheard of, but jessica has a few good points.

Maybe i'm wrong, but this is what I have noticed.
It would help if the OP was less vague, and then maybe we wouldn't have to assume things.

In many cases if you buy something that is a normal than it most likely is. Sure there's that little possible chance it could be genetic or be a het that was listed as a normal. But morphs are worth more than normals, so people usually wouldn't list a morph as a normal.
Sometimes some users feel offended towards the choice of wording some of us use when we post. It's kind of like when someone is trying to be sarcastic over text, but you can't tel if they are being sarcastic because you aren't hearing it directly from them. We mean no harm and no hostility, but we put our point down so it is understood.

I don't think I've ever seen people being "tight lipped" when it comes to helping people identify their snakes. The problem is, a lot of the time, people come here asking for us to do the impossible. Show a picture of a normal looking ball python and then ask us what morph it is. Ask us what it might be het for. Ask us what het markers they should be looking for. Etc. As often as not, these sorts of questions simply don't have any "fun" answers.
If you bought a normal looking ball python with no known history...then your chances are probably somewhere around 98% certain that it has no specifically unique genetics. If you're told it is "het for something" but not what that something is...we're not going to be able to tell you.
After being asked similar questions over and over again, the answers do start all sounding the same. Not much we can do about that.
Frankly, I'm not at all sure where the OP is going with the question about eye colors. I didn't try to answer it, because I didn't really get what they were looking for. I'm not trying to be "tight lipped" or hold on to some great secret about morph identification.

All of these except pastel should have varied shades of brown. Pastel will have some shade of green eyes. The lesser may have eyes that are lighter on the top half as could the fire and vanilla. The cinnamon will have the darkest eyes of the group.
These eye colors often change when you add another morph to create a combo. For instance, cinnamons eyes will be grey, silver, or bluish when the pastel gene is added.
Some normals can have greenish grey eyes at the too half.
Really the only positive answer you can get here that is 100% true and accurate is that there is no definite eye color for some normals and some morphs and like was already said, it often can not be a deciding factor in anything..

just adding my 0.2c
this snake is from petco, just a normal but pretty at that. Always fun to think that there is a one in a million chance that shes het for something. Anything is possible. There was a thread on this site not to long ago about a guy that had some het Axanthic's and turns out they were DH for snow. even the person that produced them didnt know the albino was in there. I know of someone locally that bought a normal and come to find out it was a mystic. got a mystic potion from it this year. Although the odds of a "normal" being anything else are really low there are plenty of mistakes made. The people who provide the pet stores can make mistake when they grab everything normal looking to ship off the petco and ooops grabbed the wrong one. just saying anything is possible..
This is my girl i bought from petco named "petco"

0.1 wifey, 1.1 twins, 1.2 Mojave, 0.1 het hypo, 0.5 normal, 1.1 Pastel, 1.1 Spider, 0.3 Het Albino, 1.0 Albino, 1.0 Albino KSB, 2.2 Het pied, 0.1 Pastel Het pied, 1.0 Ghost/Hypo, 1.0 PH Albino Cal King, 0.0.1 sun conure, 1.1 normal fat tail gecko, 0.1 Rat Terrorist named Jenny
