What am I doing wrong? No locks over a month ;/
I started pairing my snakes (I have 2 normale females - both over 2000g, and 2 males - 1 is around 500g, and other one is above 600g) around 1 month ago, and seen no locks at all so far. I tried spraying their cages, leaving other males shed in females cages, switching males between females, and no locks so far . All 4 snakes are still eating rats, although I give them smaller meals then normaly. Temps are around 80-81 at night and around 85 during the day (maybe it's too cold?). Both males have spermplugs. I don't know what else can I do. I try to be patient but it's HARD . I keep my snaks in a rack - I just took out their hides for the breeding season. This is my first breeding season.
Any more tips or should I just wait?

What temp is the "hot spot"?

The hot spot is over the flexwatt and it's around 85-86F (29*C). Maybe it's too cold? Should I raise the day temp or not?

first things first.. it early dont worry so much.
2nd, bumps temps to normal during the day and only drop a few degrees at night ...if you want to ..
i dont mess with temps at all. i keep temps the same and feed the same size year round.
when they are ready they will go.
you didnt say how big your males are or how old. just because they have plugs doesnt mean they are mature enough to want to mate. i have 2 males right now that have been producing plugs for months that are showing no interest at all. then my older experienced males are tearing it up with the lady's

Both males are 1,5 years old (they were hatched in 2010). Lesser was very small when I bought him, and now he starts to gain some size. Spider is normal size for a 1,5 year old male. They were never rushed with food - usually proper size rat once a week . I have one normal male that is little over 1000 grams, he is from '06, but he never bred before. I might try him if the younger boys won't have interest ;(.
I will try bumping temps back up to around 92F then. Thanks for help.
Any more suggestions?

Keep trying, they'll go at it when they're ready. Good luck.

Just because you dont witness a lock doesnt mean they arent locking. Make sure you arent checking on them too often and disturbing them also. I have clear tubs so I can usually see a lock with a flashlight and dont have to move the tub. Remember, breeding usually takes place in the early morning hours and a lock may not last long enough for you to catch it. I would just keep pairing 4 days on 4 days off or whatever your preferred method is. I have a spider that locks for 2-3 days at a time and a pastel that only locks for an hour or 2. It just depends on their stamina and willingness to breed. Like someone else said just because they have the tools to breed doesnt mean they have the "know how" yet. Someone may own a hammer that doesnt mean they can build a house, ya know? Stick with it, they will get the hang of it

Too cold? Who says too cold? IMO it's too hot, try dropping the temps into the 70s at night. That always induces my snakes to breed.. cooling and bump in humidity has been my go to. This doesn't mean keep them 75 all the time, heat them back up during the day, however the night drops seem to help me with successful breeding and clutches the last two years. Never had any problems, hope this helps.

Thanks for help .
I also have clean tubs, and I don't open them at all - only look through the sides .
I might get a little colder during the night and a bit warmer during the day . Hope that helps.
